    Comments:

I just rode this in the Bike MS in Columbia Missouri this last weekend (175 miles). This bike is quick, handles well and is simply fun to ride. I'm not exactly an avid cyclist; so the flat bar is familiar and comfortable. Hills were a breeze. Other reviews are accurate in that the brakes feel under-powered.

      Comments:

I bought this bike 2 years ago, after working up to 50+ mile trips on my junky mountain bike and feeling like I wanted to try longer rides and maybe even racing. This bike is a fantastic mix of comfort and speed - the flat handlebars made it easy to adjust to the narrower tires and stiffer ride (as compared to my MTB), but it's much easier to maintain higher speeds on this bike! I've completed two duathlons now and, while I'm not going to beat people on expensive tri bikes, I definitely held my own. It was a great step toward road biking and racing for me. My husband and a friend both bought the Rapid 3 as well and love it too!

I've had a Rapid 3 for a year. I ride for fitness and fun. Had road bikes previously. Like to go fast & I'm not disappointed. Added a Brooks saddle (fabulous) and Ergon GC2 grips (the ones with the ergonomic bar ends). Outstanding bike for streets for a modest price.

        Comments:

I live in north eastern Toronto, Canada. Bought it in August 2010 and rode much of the winter unless actually snowing or under -15C; the only thing I've added was a bell cuz it's the law. :) I have 20+ years of MTB biking under my belt but this is my first non-MTB. AWESOME. My heart regrets not having an MTB or CX but this is a phenomenal bike: super fast, responsive, fun. FUN. Not a 'hybrid' in the sense that I wouldn't take this off pavement since it's too tight for knobbies, nor a real road bike since it's too upright, but something that is a joy to ride; thing calls from the garage. :) Winter. Salt and water: 8 month old bike requires new rear brake cable, cleaning of bottom bracket, replacing of rusting chain, decent tires (but still haven't figured out what would be best.) I've done worse to my winter rides - and none have complained as little not given as much, including the non-shocked Giant Iguana's I've had. No fenders or racks. I dress for the worst and keep the bike naked; wear a pack for gear and luggage. Took the straps off for winter but have them back on; considering clipless but have no complaints so likely will not. In fact, I'd not change a thing, though I may get a CAD$15-2500 road or cycloscross for that specific purpose and use the Rapid for all others. One 150 km ride and many 40-60km rides and no discomfort (I wear old SportingLife longs or Sugoi shorts.) I expect many 150+ rides and do not anticipate any discomfort. Great all-purpose bike. Off-road is frustrating. Every thing else is a pleasure. If you are not used to a stiff frame it may seem like a bumpy ride but that reflects 85+psi and aluminum. Keep in mind that even the 3 has the same frame as the 1. Strongly recommended for all riders. :)

          Comments:

I am a large man. Not as large as I used to be thanks to cycling, but still a large man. I rode a Trek Hybrid Navigator for about 3 years and I loved that bike. It was time to upgrade and rode a few options including the Trek and Specialized equivalents. Ultimately I selected the Giant and I have been in love since. It has been almost a month and I ride 5-6 days a week (combination of on a trainer and on the local bike trails. I was nervous of the seat (moving away from my big "butt steak" seat to this small form seat. I have to admit that I am pleasantly surprised that I adjusted so quickly. With the change of my body position I feel like I have alleviated the problem to some degree. Rode the bike yesterday for 2 hours (as I get back into distance shape) and no ill effects. The other benefit was that I was averaging 10MPH on the trek for a 25mile+ ride. I am now averaging over 15MPH. Incredible difference. Climbs are so much easier. I could go on and on. I really am in love with this bike!

          Comments:

Selected the Rapid after several visits with local Bike Shops. Settled on this flat-bar road bike due to some back problems. This bike has been a blessing! Great bike to just hop on and go. I've ridden in charity rides and many local group rides and I have been able to hold my own with folks on bikes that cost three times as much. I will likely upgrade next season, but this bike helped me discover a love for riding, helped me lose weight, and kept me engaged in a number of different ways. I would recommend to anyone starting out who may have reservations about your back, weight, etc. This bike will "Rapid"ly take your excuses away if you get on it and give it your all.

            Comments:

When you understand that what you are purchasing with this bike is an entry level road bike you then realize how much of a great deal it is. In order to cut down on the cost of this bike Giant used flat bars with MTB type shifters instead of drops with integrated shifting. That in itself will drive the price down, as we all know how pricey road bike components can be. They left the forks aluminum, but still kept a simliar relaxed geometry as the Giant Defy. The tires are 28C as opposed to the 25C the Defy has. Other than those three main differences, you are basically buying the Defy for cheaper. This bike handles well in turns b/c of its higher BB and although its a little heavier than its brother the Defy it climbs well due to its large gearing. All that being said, the bike is just simply fun, responsive, agile and fast to ride.

Been logging 50+ miles per week on this bike, absolutely love it. It is aptly named indeed! I did a lot of research/test rides before making the purchase, and I have zero regrets. You really cannot go wrong, especially at this price.

Great bike, handles well, perfect for staying in shape. Great looking bike with lots of speed. This is my 4th sport fitness bike and it's by far the best! Giant really outdone themselves. If you're not sure about which color to pick from, choose the "yellow/black" color for the rapid 3 cause it's dead sexy! Only worries are theft and addiction :)

I'm new to Cycling. Training for Sprint distance Tri. Searched and studied other bikes for about 2 months. Everything kept leading me back to this bike for the money. What an awesome bike. I ride about 40 - 50 miles per week. I have had it a little over 30 days and it rides so well I am increasing my ride distances weekly. If you are new to cycling and you want to get you feet wet before you spend the big bucks, this is the PERFECT bike for you.....and oh yeah, it looks great too.
